Welcome back to the 2022/2023 school year! We were so excited to see new and returning students and families after the summer break.
May-June 2022 Newsletter
We have finished the year off in true Gwa'sala-'Nakwaxda'xw School style! These past few weeks have been extremely busy but rewarding. It has been so nice to reconnect with our families and community and get back to some pre-COVID 19 events and activities.
October 2020 Newsletter
We have now completed the first two months of the school year. October has been filled with lots of activities in all of the classrooms and we are excited to share our newsletter.
Ḵ̓weḵ̓wa̱la̱ba̱s: A Story Of Resilience. This meaningful film shares a compilation of interviews with Gwa’sala-’Nakwaxda’xw Elders and community members, as we prepare for the opening of the new Gukwdzi.

🤓🤓🤓Exciting news 🤓🤓🤓
Tomorrow morning: Tuesday, April 21st, 2026
Our school is welcoming a mobile vision testing machine!
Students will have their eyes examined in the morning and if further testing is needed, a letter home will be provided to parents recommending a visit to an eye doctor.

It’s a busy but exciting week ahead at Gwa’sala-’Nakwaxda’xw School! 🎉

Join us for the Gukwdzi Video Premiere at 1:00 PM – everyone is welcome!
📅 Thursday, April 23
We’re looking forward to a special performance by Christine Tassan at 11:00 AM 🎶
AND… our School Fun Fair from 5:00–8:00 PM – games, prizes, food, and fun for everyone! 🎡
(We’re still looking for cake donations for the cake walk!)
